Setting a specific homepage for users or user groups, is a great way to personalize your intranet, while providing relevant content to particular users.

For example, a board member could log in and be directed to the board subsite by default. This could be a secure area, only available to board members.

Departments may also find it beneficial to view their department homepage as the default, rather than the overall company homepage.

Setting customized homepages in iD

A default homepage can be set for an individual Website User or Website User Group. For easy maintenance, we recommend setting the default path for Website User Groups.

To set the default path for individual users, this is enabled via the Edit Website User page. See the example below:

If a website user is a part of multiple website user groups and has a different default path applied, we can set the Default Path Priority:
