Intranet DASHBOARD would like to congratulate two of our clients, Shell and Lloyd’s TSB for winning Best Intranet Design and Best Intranet Content respectively, at the 2006 International Benchmarking Forum Intranet of the Year Awards in London.

Based on the IBF’s ongoing work to evaluate members’ intranets, the top 10 intranets were shortlisted in each of the award categories. These intranets were then put in front of a panel of judges made up of IBF members and IBF staff.

Paul Miller IBF founder and Chairman said, ‘We are publicly acknowledging the hard work and vision of our members. These high-performing intranets are indicative of a maturing in the intranet and portal field.’

One judge, Liz Kirby (UK Group Intranet Manager, AXA) commented, “We were looking for intranets which performed consistently well across the board and exceptionally well in their category. Shell, who won the design award, demonstrated clarity of layout, good use of graphics, color and screen space, and excellent legibility.”

Simon Saville, Head of Web Communications, Shell International, said, “We are delighted to receive this award, against some strong competition. It is recognition for the hard work that the team have put in to get the basics right. We are now building on this platform to integrate our intranet sites and the Shell Online portal into a common user experience.”

The International Benchmarking Forum is the leading intranet benchmarking group globally and is acknowledged to have established the industry standards for intranet and portal performance.
